We are proud to announce a new Bowdoin telephone billing service on Monday, December 22nd and provided by STC Services. STC is a leader in providing colleges and universities with high quality, responsive, telecommunications services. Their clients include over 70 other academic institutions and businesses across the United States. STC offers excellent long distance rates for domestic and international calls - resulting in exceptional savings to Bowdoin.
-Your STC Personal Identification Number (PIN) is exactly the same as the code you have been using with AT&T ACUS.
-STC will need to adjust the Bowdoin long distance dialing access to a standard method - requiring the 7-digit long distance code before the telephone number. All Faculty and Staff long distance calling codes that are currently in use are being migrated to our new STC service. (Once we migrate to the new service, if your PIN is not recognized by the system - contact the Help Desk at x3030)
-With STC, your PIN is for placing calls from on campus only. If you have calling needs when away from campus, please contact the Help Desk at x3030 to request an off-campus calling card (which is separate from your STC PIN).
Please see the long distance dialing instructions for more information on dialing using the new STC system.
-You can arrange for multiple on campus long distance PIN numbers if you need to keep departmental charges separated. Simply contact the Help Desk at x3030 to request an additional account.
-Your PIN is keyed to a specific Bowdoin department account and can be used from any phone on campus.
On Campus Long Distance Calling Features for Personal Calls:
-Intrastate and Interstate calls are only 5.5. cents per minute. International rates are lower than ever. Simply contact STC directly to sign up for your billing options and to obtain any rate information for International calling. Contact STC directly by calling 877-819-6377 or send an email to: help@stcservices.com
-Detailed bills are emailed directly to you and you can pay online.
In January, all faculty and staff will receive an STC PIN information packet. Although it will be the same number you are currently using, your seven-digit, on campus, long distance, personal identification number (PIN) will be included. Once received, please review the information on the card and let us know of any corrections.
If you have any further questions, please contact us at x3966 or by emailing help@stcservices.com. You can also contact STC directly at 877-819-6377.
