We are pleased to announce customized online stores through Dell and Apple. This will allow you to take advantage of academic pricing on a new computer. You may purchase one of our recommended systems, or build your own. As soon as you receive your Bowdoin email address, you will be eligible to utilize the specialized Dell and Apple sites.

Minimum Requirements

If you are bringing a computer from home, it should have the following: 128MB, 500mhz processor, 20GB hard drive, CD-ROM, network card.

Recommended Packages:

Latitude D620 laptop with the following: Intel Core Duo 1.66GHz processor, 14.1" widescreen display, 1GB memory, 80GB hard drive, DVDRW drive, internal wireless card, 4 year warranty with Complete Care.



MacBook Pro 15" laptop with the following: 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo processor, 80GB hard drive, Superdrive (DVD-R/CD-RW), 1GB memory, Airport card, 3 year Applecare warranty.


Supplies & Accessories

Ink, cables, paper and other common computer supplies are carried at the Bowdoin Bookstore.

Software

Microsoft Office is covered under our Microsoft Campus Agreement, which means you won't have to purchase this software separately. To receive your copy of these software packages, you must complete the Campus Agreements Online Signature online.

New Students: You will receive an email from IT with more information about software distribution.
