Lyrix PeopleFind is an automatic speech recognition tool for students, faculty and staff. This technology is provided by Lyrix, Inc., a leading provider of computer telephony solutions. PeopleFind offers a quick and easy way to call other students, faculty, staff, or departments without the need for a phone number. Simply say the person's name, or department name, and the call is connected!

PeopleFind uses your voice to confirm calls to you. This assures callers that they are being connected to the correct student and educates your callers on the correct pronunciation of your name.

You can access your profile by logging in to Lyrix, using an ID and password. Your user ID and password is your Bowdoin student ID number--substituting 7 for the leading A of your student ID (e.g., ID A1234, simply use "71234"). Please take a moment to record your name in PeopleFind.

To change your recorded name:

  1. Dial 4411
  2. Say Administration
  3. Lyrix will prompt, "Please enter your user ID followed by the # key"
  4. Enter your student ID substituting 7 for the leading A of your student ID. Then press #
  5. Lyrix will prompt, "Please enter your password followed by the # key"
  6. Enter your student ID substituting 7 for the leading A of your student ID. Then press #
  7. Follow recorded prompts to complete recording
